I know in the past it has- like in 1953- when they staged the assasination of the democratically elected president of Iran soley to preserve Britian s ownership rights over Iran s oil supply

But I m wondering- has the U.S. recently abused its military power to harass other nations without any viable reason? (NOT Iraq but another one please)

Due to the fact that our CIA staged the assasination of their prime minister so that he couldn t reclaim Iran s oil supply from Britian......Wouldn t that be a war crime?

Mossadegh nationalized his country s oil industry- and the ARAMCO and BP needed cheap oil so the US overthrew Mossadegh- known as Operation Ajax. This was the first CIA covert operation overthrowing democratically elected governments- but certainly not the last. If I was Iranian I would hate America too.
Actually it was President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 who authorized this - not TRUMAN.

First and foremost- Iraq hates us becuase we put the abusive Taliban (with Sadam Hussien) in power so that Communism wouldn t spread into the MIddle East. Iran hates becuase we took part of assasinating their democratically elected leader since he was trying to nationalize his own countries oil reserves so that the British couldn t just take the oil- to make matters worse we replaced Muhamad Musadeq(the assassined president) with a total madman who s inability to rule led to the bloodiest revolution in Iran (if you don t believe me- look up Operation Ajax). It s obvious that the "Iraq war" is just a fabrication perpetuated by the Bush administration to clean up the mess the U.S. had left in the area for the last century. What I don t get is why doesn t the U.S. government just wisen up and admit to take at least partial credit for responsability of the dystopia? It would aid in maintaining the already strained Iran-U.S. relations.
I am not saying that this would make all the problems dissapear- but it would help- seeing that the U.S. military has been known to be inconsiderate and known for ignoring of their own jurisdiction of the FOREIGN countries that by all right they shouldn t be allowed to exercise them. We can t just go into an area that hates us for centuries of conflict and say that they have to accept OUR terms- that is plain and simple imperialism!
